Church
We have close links with our local churches and community particularly our local village Church, St Nicholas. Open the Book visit the school on a fortnightly basis performing stories from the Bible and the Vicar regularly participates in our daily Collective Worship. Children visit the village churches for various services throughout the year including the Y6 Leavers Service and Christingle Service.
As a Church School we are subject to a SIAMS (Statutory Inspection of Anglian Methodist Schools) Inspection.

Each term Reverend Katie and Lucy Wilshaw (from York Diocese) team up to Explore different Christian themes with our pupils. These are fun and interactive sessions where we learn together, pray together, create together.
Whenever I visit Husthwaite C of E Primary School I am always welcomed warmly by both staff and pupils. Pupils (and staff!) engage with collective worships and after school sessions enthusiastically and reflectively, making connections between what they hear and their own lives. Their contributions demonstrate an understanding of how things can affect them personally, as a school community and the wider world. Each pupil is known and respected for who they are and this is tangible through the family atmosphere in school. The relationship between school and St. Nicholas Church is important to all and the congregation loves to welcome the school into church to celebrate key points of the school year.
Through my role with the local church, I have been connected to Husthwaite C of E Primary for over five years and, within that time, have seen how pupils grow and flourish in the care of the school.
